Christmas & New Years 2009/2010

Well, Well, Well...What an insane break we had. Some BIG news to share, but I will have to get to that.

First off I will begin by showing you how we managed to drive 'Tinkerbelle' 2,500kms in less then 2 weeks.
December 25th 2.30pm we drove from Perth to Narrogin.
December 28th 11.00am we drove from Narrogin to Albany.
December 30th 9.00am we drove from Albany to Esperance.
January 4th 2.00pm we drove from Esperance to Narrogin.
And finally January 4th 8.00pm we drove from Narrogin to Perth.

So why did we do ALLLL that driving? A) I love travelling. B) Any excuse I will take to get out of Perth. C) Perth is GAY! D) My cousins were over from South Australia (whom I haven't seen since I was 15) so we had to spend some time with them.

Pretty much to summarize the entire trip would be hard. But I will keep it to a minimum as much as possible.

We had Christmas lunch with Daniel's family at his parents house. Gramps, Nanna, Uncle Mark, Aunt Alicia, Adam, Linda, David, Daniel and I all crowded around a magnificent lunch made by Linda...everything you should eat on Christmas day, though know your stomach will not be able to contain it all.
After lunch we hung around for a while but then disappeared so that we could get to Narrogin with enough time for catch ups before Christmas Dinner/BBQ.
All in all Christmas was a lovely day and greatfully, uneventful.

We spent the next few days in Narrogin trying to keep cool in the pool, whilst getting to know my aunts, uncles and cousins and showing off my Daniel.

We all headed off to Albany for a few nights of camping and site seeing. Daniel and I went on a Tree-Top walk and got to try some of the most delicious Honey Wines I have ever experiences (not that I knew honey wines existed before stumbling upon the tourist shop just out of Walpole).

Off we headed to the beautiful, amazing, perfect, fabulous town of Esperance...I am not exaggerating! My home town (and the place I will always call home) gets more and more beautiful everything I go back to visit. After 3 years since we left, I miss it even more.
We stayed at my brothers place near town and went out to Lucky Bay in Cape Le Grande National Park to camp for New Years Eve. It was picture perfect out there, and after spending the day swimming, then fishing...I was asleep by 8.30. Yes, I know that is very sad of me, but seriously, whats so exciting about the New Year anyway? Its just another Year to prove we are all getting OLD! Anyhow, even the boys didnt make it to midnight. They gave up trying to catch any fish by 10.40.

So its January 1st, 2010. What proved to be a defining point in my lift.
After driving back in from Lucky Bay and stopping in at Hellfire on the way, I suggested that we all go to Blue Haven for the rest of the afternoon for a swim. James announced that he "CBF'd" so I suggested maybe getting Caitlyn in from town to come with us...Daniel disagreed and said he wanted to go just us.
So we did. It was stinking hot, and the beach looked SOOOOO inviting, and yet Daniel insisted that we go rock climbing first. Here on one side we have an amazing crystal clear blue ocean ready for us to jump straight in, or on the other hand, rock climbing up a hill only to get more sunburnt and hot...sounded like a retarded idea to me, but Daniel insisted upon it and for once I went along with it.

We got out to the furthest point where the swell is insane and the waves were beating at the rocks with no hesitation. It was the most beautiful view. Out on the edge it was quite windy though so we huddled together under our towels talking about 'Who was the biggest poo' out of the both of us. Just another retarded conversation of cause so I didn't even slightly expect what was coming next.

Daniel "soooo, Larissa...Cos you love meeeee."
Me "what do you waaaaaaaant?" (thinking he was going to make me go back to the car to pick up something he had forgotten)
*pulls out cream coloured box from pocket*
Daniel "Will you Marry Me?"
Me (in a matter of seconds) "OMG!" *Cries* "YES!" *laughs*

And so...SURPRISE!!! Daniel and I are engaged! And the moment could not have been more perfect!!!

After getting back to James' place (I hadn't bought my phone with me), I spent the next 4hours trying to contact my parents. Turns out they were out of range all day, seriously, I had the most important news of my lift to tell them, and they are out of range?! GEEZ!
Anyway, whirlwind of phonecalls to family and texts to friends..."OMG's" and "Who didnt see that one coming?"'s

We celebrated that night, and the next, and the next :) Had the Saturday Night at the Pier and danced the night away :)

It was only about a week or so after getting back I stopped having an out of body experiance...this was easily the best holiday of my life!

Well thats enough talk for one blog...here are some photos!
